Jemma Aigner - Balancing Harmony

Riders Biomechanics

Moving in harmony. Riding with feel.

At the heart of every truly connected partnership is understanding — not just of your horse, but of yourself.

Rider biomechanics is the study of how your body moves in the saddle: your alignment, balance, stability, breathing, and the subtle patterns that influence every aid you give. It’s not about forcing a position or “holding” yourself correctly. It’s about awareness. About creating a body that allows your horse to move freely, confidently, and without restriction.

When your body is organised and responsive, your horse feels it instantly.

Why It Matters

Horses are incredibly sensitive to asymmetry, tension, and instability. A collapsed hip, a gripping thigh, a braced lower back — these small patterns can block movement, dull responsiveness, and create confusion in the conversation between you.

Through thoughtful biomechanical work, you begin to:

  • Develop independent, elastic stability

  • Improve clarity and timing of your aids

  • Reduce physical tension and fatigue

  • Support your horse’s balance and straightness

  • Build true self-carriage — for both of you

As your body becomes more aligned and supple, your horse gains the freedom to step under, lift through the back, and move with greater expression and ease.

A Partnership Built on Feel

My approach is not about rigid positions or mechanical correction. It is about cultivating feel. Helping you understand how your body influences your horse — and how small adjustments can create profound change.

We work gently and progressively, using exercises both on and off the horse to retrain movement patterns and restore functional balance. The goal is always harmony: a rider who moves with their horse rather than against them.

When biomechanics improve, connection deepens. Communication becomes quieter. The aids become lighter. And riding begins to feel effortless.

Because true harmony is not created through force —
It’s created through alignment, awareness, and partnership.
